As the number beside the question of my age increases and I read about how older people should act their age, I begin to wonder, how old is old really? There was a time when I was 20 that 40 seemed old..Now that I am beyond both those ages and still young I may be old once I am 90 but I doubt it. Age is relative to both how you feel , act, and respond to the world. True that as we age many suffer from chronic health issues. It has also been proven that we are aging better than our parents.I tend to believe we are living healthier lives and staying involved with life . Seniors are involved in their communities by volunteerng, joining clubs ,actively using computers, taking education courses they may not have had a chance to do while raising families or working to support them. We have lived and experienced many changes and I hope gained much wisdom. In a world of constant change people are able to do what brings joy and fullfilment no matter their age. I have found ageism popping up on social media and in conversations out in the community.I find both the young and the older have much to offer if we take the time to listen .In many cultures the elderly are consider the Wisdom bearers. In years I am 73 but still feel young and look forward to seeing what each day brings me.I would love to hear what you think . How old is old for you? Do you fear getting older? Are you trying to decide what to do with your life as you near retirement. What do I do if my health deterioates? I can help you loook at and work with those questions by exploring options as well as fears and conceerns.I look forward to hearing from you.
